A tale of two penalties as Baffins secure a point at high-flying Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

There was a lowly crowd of just 25 for the Wessex Premier Division fixture - which was reversed less than 24 hours before kick-off.

Danny Thompson made four changes to the side that exited the Portsmouth Senior Cup in midweek to Fleetlands for the trip to Moon Park.

And the fixture started with a high tempo early on, with Roux Hardcastle forced to make a strong save to deny Josh Bertie in the Wiltshire rain. Baffins enjoyed spells on the front foot in the first-half, but it was the hosts who had the chance to go ahead just before the interval.

Jason Parish was adjudged to have fouled Bertie inside the Baffins box and Greg Peel stepped up and fired home down the middle of the goal.

The second-half continued in the same fashion as the first, and as the rain begun to stop, Baffins won a penalty of their own. With regular spot-kick taker Charlie Oakwell suspended, skipper Parish stepped up and confidently converted from 12 yards.

Baffins left Moon Park somewhat disappointed with only a point, as hosts goalkeeper Patrick Creese made several saves late on to deny Parish and Ed Sanders a possible winner.

Baffins: Hardcastle, Evans, Francis, Paige, Giddings, Sanders, Wellham (Johnson 73), Ramsey, Parish (Brownlie 90), Vincent (Robinson 59), Everett. Subs not used: Fox, Scammell.

Booked: Evans, Parish

Sin-bin: Ramsey
