Hampshire Cup Preview: Baffins vs Lymington Town

A trip to Aldershot Town or Sholing awaits the winner of Tuesday night's tie as Baffins continue to dare to dream as they welcome Lymington Town in the club’s first ever last-16 tie.
And Baffins will head into the clash with the Southern League side full of confidence, after recording a fourth-straight home win last time out.
Laverstock & Ford were the visitors to PO3 as Tyler Giddings’ first goal for the club was added to by Charlie Oakwell to secure a comfortable two-goal victory. The victory moved Danny Thompson’s side within four points of Hamble Club, who occupy sixth place in the standings.
The visitors for this Tuesday’s last-16 encounter are Lymington Town, who travel to PMC Stadium for the second time this campaign after a 3-0 defeat in pre-season.
The Linnets are currently two points and two places ahead of the drop zone in tier four and recorded a 3-2 victory away at Bishops Cleeve at the weekend after leading by three goals at the break.
One of the goalscorers for Dave Lewis’ side was former Brockenhurst striker Mitchell Speechely-Price, who scored a consolation goal in Baffins’ 6-1 victory at Grigg Lane back in October. He will be cup-tied for Tuesday's match, after featuring for the Badgers in the competition earlier this term.
The last competitive encounter between the sides was a Wessex League Cup round one tie during 2020/21 — and Rovers ran out 4-3 winners thanks to goals from Cowan, Dart and Miller.
Tickets for the Hampshire Cup encounter can only be purchased on the turnstiles on Tuesday 21 February and are priced £6 adults and £4 concessions.
