The mission is clear for Danny Thompson's side. Bouncing back.
And this task comes after back-to-back defeats away at Brockenhurst and Sholing in League and Hampshire Cup respectively.
Baffins would’ve though luck was on their side when Harry Bunce was dismissed for Brockenhurst after just 120 seconds on the clock at Grigg Lane, but Rovers were defeated by Danny Ackland’s side.
The second fixture was always going to be a tough task and that it proved, with Baffins crashing out of the Hampshire Cup at the third stage, despite a spirited performance with a number of young players involved at Sholing on Tuesday.
Thompson’s side now begin life post-Brett Pitman, who re-joined AFC Portchester this week, and have turned to former Bemerton Heath Harlequins attacker Lamin Jatta, signing from neighbours Moneyfields.
Baffins got the better of Hythe & Dibden on three occasions last campaign, including a last-gasp Miles Everett winner at Lymington Town’s The Sports Ground back in April, on Rovers’ run to the play-offs.
Tickets can only be purchased on the turnstiles on Saturday and are priced £6 for adults and £4 for concessions, Portsmouth FC season ticket holders, OAPs and Service personnel.
