Baffins begin the month of February by welcoming Dorset play-off chasers Portland United.

And Danny Thompson’s side will be hoping to build on two strong performances during the last seven days and record another victory.

One week ago, Rovers performed well against title-challenging AFC Stoneham, recording a point as Tyrhys Lukonyomoi’s opener was cancelled out by Jim Orvis’ second-half strike.

Baffins were forced to travel to Lymington Town for a second time this campaign on Tuesday evening after an administration error saw an ineligible player fielded in the original fixture. Despite that, Thompson’s side returned to Hampshire with a 3-0 triumph, with Arty Kerton, Tyrhys Lukonyomoi and Kelvin Robinson on target as Roux Hardcastle made a first-half penalty save.

Baffins will now be hoping to record yet another PO3 victory over Portland United.

Jason Parish struck the only goal of the match in this fixture last term and The Blues haven’t won at PMC Stadium since the 6-0 thrashing back in October 2017.

Kyle Critchell’s Dorset-based outfit have enjoyed a strong start to their 2023/24 campaign and remain firmly in the hunt for the step-five play-offs, returning to the top-five with a point at Christchurch on Tuesday evening, after Brin Doyle’s equalising goal.

Portland United’s Greg Borthwick leads their scoring charts so far this term with nine goals in League action and 14 in all competitions.

The two sides met at The Camp & Satherley Stadium back in August and Baffins rued their missed chances and only returned to Portsmouth with a point as Kelvin Robinson netted in a 1-1 draw.

Tickets can only be purchased on the turnstiles on Saturday and are priced £7 adults and £4 concessions. Matchday programmes are also available for just £2.
